I doubt the technical aspects work, but a "Red Zone" game mode could be kind of a fun break. Just whipping you from game to game: "Boom, now you're the Rams with their team and playbook and you need a 65 yard TD to win," whips over to "Now you're the Jets and you have to stop a First and Goal" to "Now you're the Eagles and you're receiving first in OT." more or less a supersized version of the Gauntlet.

Hopefully this leads to enhanced presentation throughout the game like an extended halftime presentation, animated gameplay highlights from other games across the NFL in Franchise mode, and enhanced pre-game introduction like exterior stadium pan or tailgate scene or player warmups with stat presentation, ect.

It's been apparent that the Madden franchise has taken a 20-year regression with presentation. The features I mentioned in addition to bringing back a revamped and team-specific "super fans" in the crowd along with bringing back Next Gen Stats will be a much needed boost to presentation in Madden.

Another much-needed add-in, provide each team with multiple endzone art designs to choose from or at least have the endzone art correspond to the home teams selected uniforms. Majority of NFL teams use multiple endzone designs throughout the year, it's beyond appropriate to now address this in the game. It's not the NFL preventing this from happening either.

When was the last year Madden had in-game breaks with highlights from other games? I can't recall this. Maybe 20+ years ago?

In-game - never.

Post-game - Some of the SNES-era Maddens (i want to say '96 and beyond) sometimes gave you an option to watch a game-deciding play from a completely different game.

It's not as good as it sounds - it's from the same top-down camera as gameplay was (that's the only view the game had back then), and it probably only had a limited number of these kind of plays to pull from - more or less like 2k did years later.
