Issue with exiting game in CFM

my friend and I try to play Madden 25 on Xbox One we get so frustrated because we have yet to play a game and get it saved. CFM when we exit our first game of the season it kicks us to the main menu. Every Time! I've tried everything to no avail. We can't even enjoy this game. What a waste of my hard earned money. Anyone know a fix? I've tried everything. We play on the same team together. I've tried doing everything with the same controller. I'm about to give up...sad because I've enjoyed this game.

I had this issue on ps4, I'm not sure if it is fixed the same way. On ps4, for the game to save after a head to head franchise game, both users have to be signed into your system before you officially start Madden up.
