What Madden title is best/most realistic?

I'm a Skins fan. Not a huge football fan but looking to pick up a pre-owned Madden title for me and a friend to play. What game would you recommend? For 360. Looking for most realistic and best game play and also a good presentation is VERY important to me as well. What year do you recommend?

I have been playing a NFL 2K5 franchise with my brother while we wait for Madden and it has been some of the most fun I've ever had playing a football game (mostly because of the realistic gameplay). Not sure if the 360 is compatible with the original XBOX games as I am playing on my old PS2.

I loved 2K5 but, seriously, is it still the best game 9 years later? If so, wow.

It would be a cheap pickup, if it is backwards compatible on 360. I think it is.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised. I still consider NHL2K8 (followed by NHL2K10) the best hockey simulation and it is, what, 6 years old?
