Defensive player assignments ?? update ??

We use to have the ability to assign a specific player and match up to another team’s best receiver/running back . What's the use of having a Patrick Perterson if we can't have him on your best receiver all day ? it seem on offence people move around there best Reciever and get nightmare match ups for the defense . And with the new aggressive catch I really thing this feature is very important ! It wasn’t in Madden 25 or Madden 15 but hoping to get it back for 16 . In fact at E 3 one of the DEVS in a interview I think with simfball said they like to try and get it in . Dose anyone know if it was squeezed in ?

Wow that's a big let down. What's the point of having a great man coverage corner if I can't have him stick on the other team's top WR all game. Such a big part of the game left out is a huge disappointment.

It blows my mind they could put things in last gen games like this and draft classes yet not carry them to the X1 and PS4.

I believe on twitter Oldenburg said they tried to fit it in but it was too big (for the development cycle I assume). I hope they take their time and do it right, if you'd used it in the old games you'd know it was actually a pretty big disaster.

If you just matched up the through the nickel corner it worked fine, but if you only did the top two corners, or just one it had your match-ups jacked.

That's probably why they removed it, and they didn't want or have the time to actually fix it.

The thing that boggles my mind is that it has been out of the game for about 3 years and they still can't figure out a way to successfully put it back in the game. Especially being that defensive matchups are a big part of real life football.
