Lol @ Rodgers or Cam being hire than Brady.

Brady is easily the best QB in the league. Has been for a while. Reminds me of the morons that think Curry is better than LeBron.

Cam Newton completed 59.7% of his passes last year and has never posted a season completion percentage north of 61%.

I know stats aren't everything, but I just want to throw that out there for discussion.

Just based on what we have seen it looks like we are heading in the right direction.

Until we have some context for any of these ratings it's difficult to give an opinion.

I agree with PatsFan. Posting these ratings is all fine and good as a marketing strategy, but really until we have hands on with the game and can see how the ratings translate to on the field play its meaningless. They have gotten better over the years, but it wasnt long ago that it was easy to be efficient with the QB whether he was 99 OVR or 59 OVR

Probably too early to tell, but based off these results compared to last year, it looks like the are generally increasing the DAC again. If the gameplay is tougher in order to warrant the DAC spread going back up again then fair play. Wait and see.

I like seeing the OVRs going down...but we can see that Deep Accuracy has shot way up from release last year.
Rodgers went from 80 to 90. Ben from 73 to 90. Brady from 70 to 84.

I get that these are the Top 5 QB's but those accuracy ratings seem awfully high across the board. It also appears they've either abandoned their stance on deep accuracy or maybe it was possibly tuned. Last year Rodgers had 80 DAC which was the highest in the game and all five listed are all well higher than that. You can definitely see how OVR's were changed here too, Rodgers, Brady, and Roethlisberger's attributes are all higher across the board but their OVR's are all lower. Just some observations.

Cam I will give you without argument, speaking to his ability as a passer at least (he's probably the best running QB in the league). However, there is nothing Brady can individually do that Rodgers can't, and Rodgers is better throwing on while moving than Brady is while being generally far more athletic. Brady simply cannot make the game-winning play Rodgers did in the 2013 Week 17 game against Chicago, he's never had that kind of athleticism to go with his top-flight passing skills.

Before you say anything about rings or QB Wins, bear in mind that those are team achievements and not at all good indicators of individual talent.

When marketing games, OVR's still matter a lot, and there is no way that the reigning MVP wasn't going to have a high Overall and the passing accuracy stats had to be at a certain level to generate that OVR.

I also think that their ratings are heavily influenced by analyses like these:

In 16 games this year, Newton threw for 3,837 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, while rushing 132 times for 636 yards and 10 touchdowns. He completed just 59.8 percent of his passes, but he wasn't an inaccurate passer. Newton's low completion percentage can be attributed to the quality of his receivers and the system in which he plays. While most of the NFL has become fascinated with efficiency, the Panthers have focused on finding big plays.
he had to do it while throwing to players with limited catch radii and without a great offensive line to give him time and space. The Panthers were so concerned about their offensive line that they regularly used seven-man pass protections to tip the coverage numbers further in favor of the defense.
Newton completed just 60 percent of his passes, but his accuracy rate was 77.1 percent. And a 77.1 percent accuracy rate while throwing the ball downfield under pressure isn't logical.

Newton also doesn't make a ton of short passes to boost his core passing numbers. The Panthers want him to throw to the intermediate and deep levels and take advantage of his power arm. Newton's 59.1 completion percentage is behind Matt Cassel and EJ Manuel. But when we look at Newton's "accuracy percentage," a signature stat of Pro Football Focus, Newton's 50.8 percent on passes of 20 yards or more is bested only by Derek Carr of the Oakland Raiders. The Panthers offense plays to Newton's strengths. And it's worth mentioning that Newton's receiving corps are widely considered one of the worst in the NFL.
