Madden 19 coach mode question

Does anyone know if madden 19 will offer more realistic coach mode? Auto pass and auto run... So you do not have to control the player

I didn't get last year's version but I heard that a button had to be pressed to get coach mode working properly. I suppose I can live with that but I would prefer pure coach mode being back like the OP. Here's hoping!

As an avid coach mode player, I stopped playing M18 after the first few weeks, because I hated what they did to Coach Mode on defense. Even with the button pressed, as you mention, the player would laser in on the run immediately. Because it's the CPU doing its thing...you're hitting the assist button to help you zero in all the ball carrier. It completely ruined the experience, and I have no idea why they had to change it after all these years. Made no sense. There was nothing wrong with the original Coach Mode. Hoping they bring back the original way, otherwise, I personally won't get the game this year.

A proper coach mode has never been in the game , it has auto run /pass but requires the user to manually kick and didn't work defensively in M18 , a back step from previous maddens

I think the best you have right now is coach mode in main menu, although not true coach mode just auto passing..cpu will run by themselves if you don't take control.. Defensive assist us holding LB but the player will take slight hits to ratings.. And slow SIM, but you will not be calling the plays with this..

it wasn't correct in M19 on defence, but autopass and autorun worked fine. i hadnt made the connection between LB being pressed to get my highlighted FS to actually play rather than stand still and my annihilation of the opposition run game. being dumb i now realise why my 99 FS was murdering the runner.

I have no doubt this wont be changed in M19 as no one gives a hoot about coach mode

was trying to answer OP directly. But you’re right..

A proper coach mode has never been in madden. Ever. We have to play HC09 for that.
