What causes nano detection to activate?

I played a game online and there were 3 instances where nano detection activated even though I don't nano blitz. I only shift and/or crash my D Line. I saw guys come through (it seemed my opponent slid his protection in the wrong direction) then just stop for a few moments before resuming their rush.

It's just frustrating. It's like I'm being punished for calling a good play. Any idea on what causes it to activate so that I can maybe make adjustments to attempt to cause it not to activate?

I'm totally with you. This band aid ruins things. I don't nano blitz either but last night in my CFM I had multiple instances where my opponent misread the blitz and I had a free path to the QB and he stops, stands still then resumes his rush. By this time my opponent has thrown a 30 yd td.

If they need this to band aid for the poor AI for competitve that's fine but give us a toggle to turn it off. I shouldn't be punished for playing defense well without any hot routes or adjustments. I played good football. They turned it into video game BS

From what Clint's said over the years since it's been added, it's scenarios where a player doesn't have a lineman assigned to him when the game thinks he should. There could potentially be a glitch in your situation where sliding/shifting is weirding out the lineman blocking logic and they aren't being assigned to the rushers they're supposed to, and the nano detector is thinking it's because you're sending a nano blitz

I really wish this would get addressed. I just played a guy who literally nano blitzed me all game, and not once did this activate. He ran the double a gap mid blitz, then he'd bring a safety down and blitz him, then he'd get close to the LOS with his other safety. At the snap, someone always came free, even vs max protect.

I finally figured out how to counter it by max protecting and pinching my line, using a shotgun formation with 2RBs and hoping a receiver got free from the jam before I got sacked (still lost by 4).

I just find it crazy how I get nano detected on legit blitzes, yet glitches who take advantage of the AI are unaffected....

Smart counter on your part. You can also try HB sweep or a quick throw to the back in the flat.
