I haven't had issues with 2-4-5, but I don't use it much. I would double check your depth chart to make sure the game didn't slot a player into both spots.

Normally the best pass rusher is played at RE, because he is the guy lined up opposite the LT and attacking the blindside.

The LE will typically be the run stopper because he lines up on the strong side.

It’s not universal but that is the normal way it’s done.
Schemes in madden kinda suck because they are so limited. Think there is only like 5 different schemes in the game?

I switched to 4-3 a few years ago and I’ll never go back (other than calling 3-4 a few times a game just to be different)

I like always rushing 4 and having 4 stout run defenders. Helps with nickel too; you rush 4 and have secondary coverage. I’m pretty much nickel 90% of the game anyway.

I like drafting two stud DTs and then building them up

To explain further, 4-3 with LB's with archetype Pass Defenders or whatever it is. However one of my LB's have been getting cooked in my CFM lately

I myself like a 4-3 although honestly the 3-4 is dominantly better IMO.

i was 4-3 for years until last year. I now exclusively run 3-4. Feels so much more versatile. I get better pressure on the QB and have more speed on the field to prevent big runs
