Re: Offense plays only. Anyone else play like this?
I do, I find playing defense tedious because there are so many things you just can't do and now with so little time before the snap you can;t make many adjustments. It would be nice if you could make those adjustments as part of the game plan outside the actual game and not have to say roll coverage toward player X each play.
So I control all 32 teams, and flip a coin before each game. I play offense only for whichever team 'wins' the toss. I'm enjoying it, I've had crazy high scoring close games, games with 40 combined points, blowouts, and low scoring affairs. You can definitely tell the difference between the teams when you play this way. I also have X-Factors turned off so that you don't have an Enforcer causing 5 fumbles in a game. You still need to look out for a top player, but they aren't blinking the whole game and running halfway across the field to hit stick you non-stop. I let the PC do all roster stuff, I'm just playing the games which is my favorite part of Madden.
I play this way using Josh's sliders, which are basically All-Pro default. I win some, I lose some, but the games are all different which is what makes it fun. I've seen upsets and good teams blast bad ones.
I will probably go back at some point and just play a franchise as a team, perhaps controlling both O and D or just O.
