Player Name Absent For CPU Ball Carrier: Just Another Basic Game Play Visual Scrapped

It's very easy to pick the flaws out with this game. What bothers me even more are the features EA has either scrapped over the years or made worse. What stood out to me immediately was the Player Name on the ball carrier being minimized so small. Have yet to figure out a way to make it bigger like year's past (turned on enlarged graphics, but only works for icons). Then I noticed playing the CPU the player name did not appear for the CPU ball carrier. I thought it was very odd. Popped in Madden 16 and the CPU ball carrier did in fact have their player name indicated. I also noticed a ref in the distance at the line of scrimmage too! (another basic football visual scrapped).

This game has literally digressed over the past 15 years in terms of basic presentation: - No CPU Ball Player Name, - Micro Player Name, - No Relevant Halftime Show, - No ref in the distance while lined up, - Specific Crowd Chants Seem Absent (At the very least worse than many year's past), - No Stadium/Team Specific Fans in the Crowd Cut Scenes (remember the Bills' Elvis from Madden 10+ years ago?).

These features little by little get cut or overlooked until it eventually adds up to the point it makes you wonder, what is going on? Then you see other franchises like NBA 2K and MLB The Show who keep building toward perfection each year with attention to detail on everything. Wish EA would do the same.

Since you mentioned NBA 2K.

A similar flaw in 2K I still beg for them to put back in is the player name back under the ball handler in online games instead of the gamertag/PSN name. One of my bigger pet peeves in 2K for a number of years now since I just want to know who I'm guarding always instead of seeing xXxGOAT22xXx

Sorry for blowing up your narrative a bit by mentioning that but I just had to mention it since it was even tangentially related.

Also, spoilers, big fans of those games don't all share that view.

Actually the stadium sounds are there, and much improved from years past.

The game has the names option: on all the time, and pre snap only or off you may want to double check your settings.

NBA 2k and MLB have warts of their own they are not perfect. If anything they are all trending down lately
