Help with getting true draft picks in Franchise....

Does anyone know a good reference showing which draft picks teams have currently for the upcoming draft? I noticed that some trades involved players and draft picks and I would like to make trades to mirror the true NFL draft picks.

thanks for any help....

Re: Help with getting true draft picks in Franchise....

I found this list at http://football.about.com/od/nfldraft/a/tradedpicks.htm Is this the most upto date and what does conditional mean? I am looking for a list to see if anyone has 2007 draft picks from an earlier season.

2007 Traded Picks

4th Round
San Francisco from Washington
Atlanta from Denver

6th Round
Dallas from NY Jets (conditional)
Kansas City from Dallas

7th Round
Green Bay from NY Jets (conditional)
NY Jets from Detroit (conditional)

New Orleans holds a conditional late-round pick from Atlanta

Re: Help with getting true draft picks in Franchise....

I figured I could control all the teams in Franchise and than do draft trades. For example, trade Dieon Branch to Seattle for their first round pick. I would do that all at the beginning of the Franchise. I just hate the fact that the roster updates don't update draft picks, because it almost seems like teams are getting players for free.

That is far from being updated.

SF 49ers have a 4th from NY Jets for Barlow

http://www.gbnreport.com/trades.htm
  • 2007
1st Round
  • New England has a #1 from Seattle (WR Deion Branch)
2nd Round
  • New York Jets have a #2 from Washington (2006 draft-day trade)
  • 3rd Round
  • Cincinnati forfeits its 3rd round pick (LB Ahmad Brooks - 2006 supplemental draft) 4th Round
  • San Francisco has a #4 from Washington (WR Brandon Lloyd)
  • San Francisco has a conditional #4 from the Jets (RB Kevan Barlow/ pick could escalate depending on playing time and productivity)
  • Atlanta has a #4 from Denver (2006 pre-draft trade)
  • Tennessee has a #4 from Baltimore (QB Steve McNair)
  • New Orleans has a #4 from Kansas City (RB Michael Bennett)
  • New Orleans has a conditional #4 pick from Philadelphia (WR Donte Stallworth/could escalate to a #3 if Stallworth signs a contract extension with the Eagles.)
    5th Round
  • Oakland has a #5 from New England (WR Doug Gabriel)
    6th Round
  • Dallas has a conditional 6th rounder from NY Jets (DB Pete Hunter; pick could have escalated to as much as a 5th round pick in 2006, however, Hunter was released in 2005)
  • Kansas City has a 6th from Dallas (LB Scott Fujita)
  • Detroit has a #6 from Miami (QB Joey Harrington...pick could escalate to a #5 if Harrington meets certain playing time requirements)
  • Tennessee has a #6 from Indianapolis (2006 draft-day trade)
    7th Round
  • Dallas has a #7 from New Orleans (LB Scott Shanle)
  • Green Bay may have a #7 from NY Jets (OT Steve Morley)
  • NY Jets may have a #7 from Detroit (DB Jon McGraw)
  • Cleveland has a #7 from San Francisco (QB Trent Dilfer)
  • New England has a conditional #7 from Arizona (OT Brandon Gorin; could escalate to a 6th rounder depending on productivity)
  • Chicago has a conditional #7 from Cleveland (C Lenny Friedman)
  • Dallas has a #7 from the Jets (TE Sean Ryan)
  • Other
  • New Orleans has a conditional late-round pick from Atlanta (OT Wayne Gandy)
  • Indianapolis has an undisclosed conditional pick from Baltimore (DB Gerome Sapp)
  • Cincinnati has an undisclosed conitional pick from St. Louis (QB David Ragone/did not make final roster)
  • New England has an undisclosed conditional pick from Cleveland (C Ross Tucker/did not make roster)
  • San Fransico has an undisclosed pick from the NY Jets (RB Kevan Barlow)
  • The Jets have a 6th or 7th pick from Tampa Bay (TE Doug Jolley)
  • The Jets have an undisclosed pick from Minnesota (QB Brooks Bollinger)
  • Oakland has an undisclosed pick from the Jets (DE Bobby Hamilton)
  • Baltimore has an undisclosed pick from Indianapolis (DE Ryan LaCasse)
  • Denver will receive compensation from Washington as their part of a deal in which the Broncos sent WR Ashley Lelie to Atlanta and the Falcons sent RB T.J. Duckett to Washington. Depending on how the Broncos and Redskins finish in the final standings, the two teams could exchange first-round picks outright if Denver has a significantly lower pick than the Redskins; the teams could flip-flop their first-rounders and the Broncos get a fourth-rounder in 2008; the teams flip-flop their first-rounders and the Broncos get a third- rounder next year; or the Broncos get a third-rounder in 2007 and a fourth-rounder in 2008.
It will be dificult, especially with conditional picks and the whole Lelie trade.

Re: Help with getting true draft picks in Franchise....

How will you get any of these in?? For example Barlow to Skins for a pick, well Barlow is already on the Skins roster and you just can't trade a pick from Wash to SF for nothing in return, the game won't let you do that.

Re: Help with getting true draft picks in Franchise....

1. Sign a cheap free agent to the team who you wish to acquire draft picks, to a 1 year, no-roster bonus contract.

2. Trade him to acquire the draft picks.

3. Release the player. The cap hit should be minimal if there is one.
