Xbox Live > Depth Chart

It'll ask you to download the latest.

Actually Von, like last year's game, you just have to challenge someone in the Lobby. When you do that Xbox Live will prompt you to download the latest roster update. The key is you have to be a Gold member. Its the pretty much the same procedure for the Playstation 3 version.

I did the "depth chart" method and that seemed to work..it made a roster file called "online"..and I am only a Silver Member for right now

This is incorrect ... it was posted a while back that the gold live account is no longer required for roster updates, and no longer do you have to challenge someone to get the roster prompt. Like one of the previous posters mentioned, I believe you just access x-box live with your silver OR gold account, then go to depth chart.
