Why doesn't Madden have bigger pre-season rosters?

It would be nice to have 70+ man rosters and have some actual position battles or surprising players make it out of camp.

Just curious if it's been said somewhere why the rosters are 53 out of the box and why we can't have the entire preseason roster.
