Editing a player in any way will completely erase their roles. I understand this belongs in the glitches/bugs thread, but like a lot of other people I like to stay away from that thread, because I won't notice half of the things anyway.

I feel this deserves it's own thread to warn people before they spend hours (like I did) editing the roster just to lose all the roles for franchise mode.

So rosters editors, beware!

Really? That's pretty damn terrible if true. Is this just when you edit before you start a franchise (i.e. in the main menu/front end) or after you start a franchise as well? If they don't lose their roles after you start a franchise, you can at least work around it and do you edits after you start it up.

happens to miami if you cut ronnie brown and ricky williams, bush doesn't react well in wild cat (original roster).

In the words of John McEnroe, "You Can't Be Serious"? This is just flat out inexcusable. Not another bug ridden game like NCAA 12 please? Some of this stuff is outright unbelievable to see happening.

That was the first thing I checked after I found this out, and sure enough, you lose them inside of franchise as well. GRRReeeeatt..

It's 100% true, no matter when you change it (main menu or in franchise menu) it erases player roles. Brandon Marshall has the go to WR role and when i changed his sock height the role was removed.

So the roles are permanently gone? Maybe if I delete my roster update, re-download and don't touch the rosters then the roles should be back. I'm gonna try this later today. Hopefully the Bills have more player roles than just a Game Manager with Fitzpatrick
