Oh sorry, I forgot how running on a basketball court in shorts translates exactly to how a guy runs on a football field in cleats and pads.

LOL...What are you talking about?

I think of all the changes that LeBron would have to make, the least of them is adjusting to cleats and pads.

Re: LeBron James in NFL??

Tight End is an interesting position for him to pick. There is no question that he has the physical stature and he is obviously extremely athletic. I'd be curious to see how he takes all the hits. Basketball and football are completely different. In basketball you can touch the player and get called for a foul. Football is scary and as a Receiver you always have to be ready for a big hit after you touch the ball. So he wouldn't be physically dominant in the way that he is in the NBA because other NFL players are built like that. We would have to see how he brings his talents to the Tight End position on (what team)? Dolphins? Yeah, they could use just about any position.

Wow, are you kidding? Funny thing is most non football players think anyone can throw on football cleats and pads and run just as well as they do in gym. The combines greatless flaw is they have the athletes run on that track in shorts. Talk with players who have gone through it and that 40 yard time is nothing like running with the pads on.

Re: LeBron James in NFL??

No one with common sense would think that it is the same, but let's not overstate the matter. You're not going to find someone that registers a sub 4.5 at the combine, but then suddenly runs like a nose tackle with pads on. The equipment more or less effects everyone's speed by the same factor. So if LeBron, for example, is in the 90th percentile in speed at the combine, he'll be more or less at the 90th percentile on the field.

This is also coupled with the fact that LeBron has prior football experience.

Re: LeBron James in NFL??

have people not even how he 8 steps an entire basketball court? He would be a 6'8 265+ TE that is pure muscle and a freak of nature...

No one will ever know what he trully weighs but when he throws every big man around in the NBA you have to assume its more then his listen weight

Re: LeBron James in NFL??

I am simply stating...
Someone claimed that Lebron is the fastest guy in the NBA (proof would be good to prove that fact btw) and that means he would easily translate into a 90 plus speed guy in the NFL. I think people are over estimating things a bit because some are already making it sound like LeBron would be an NFL star. You want to talk about prior experience let's look at a previous NBA star that tried to switch sports at which he had experience. Some of you might remember a guy named Michael Jordan. He had previous baseball experience and left the NBA and went to play baseball. How did that turn out?

You can't take attributes in one sport and think they translate exactly to another sport because they don't. Yes you are getting basketball players go to football, you can thank Gates for that one. That said, Gates is the exception and not the rule.

It's all a mute point anyways though, at some point the NBA will be back and LeBron isn't going to risk his money there for a great amount less the NFL will pay him to try his luck.

Re: LeBron James in NFL??

How did Gates work out?

Comparing a sport like baseball to football on its own is ridiculous lol No matter how athletic you are if you cant see the ball they way you need to and hit the ball your nothing.
