Madden 12 hex editing

I know EA games are extremely hard to hack in terms of hex editing as opposed to 2k games, but has anyone figured out how to used the hex editor on madden 12?

I don't know what the policy is on game modifying here on Operation Sports, but modifying games for consoles is something the developers don't like and is generally frowned upon.

Now if you're talking about hacking a roster file, that's entirely fine, as it's no different from using a third party program to edit a game save. I plan on hex editing a Madden roster myself, so it's definitely something I'll look into. A good hex editor is Hackman, and it's entirely free.

Ya I meant hexing the roster file. Do you know how ?

I'm basically a script kiddy, so I'm learning as I go. I figured out that for the PS3, each roster file is saved into its own folder with a few other files - and it appears the important one is one just called "USR-DATA" Unfortunately, the data appears to be highly compressed, making it a total pain to try to figure out.

I haven't looked at the XBox roster files, but I'll keep you posted.

I'm going to try an experiment with a PS3 roster. I erased all the data inside and I'm going to see if that creates a blank roster file or just a corrupt file.

Hex ediitng would be nice but just about impossible.

imagine being able to forward the years of the rookies from last year so they are not rookies this year, and giving the portrait IDs the number for the blank one for rookies so they are not a generic face

Would be good to stick it up EA for screwing us this year
