FBG ratings are useless for franchise mode. All the veterans would get cut in favor of rookies after year 1... Everyone's overall is far too low.

The overall ratings for rookies have typically been, and appear to be for this year as such:

1st rounders - 75-84 (mostly 75-79)
2nd-3rd rounders - 70-76
4th-7th - 60-72
UDFA - 50-68

Because of this you're pretty much confined to the following model regarding overall ratings:

All-pro caliber - 90+
Legitimate starters - 80+
Weak starters, good backups - 70+
Replacement level talent - 60+

Having a ton of guys under 60 overall will mean a lot of veterans getting cut in favor of UDFAs.

I agree and was just thinking the same thing. However I think we can keep the distribution of the FBG yet keep the ratings ranges that you talk about below.

I'm definitely going to be following this thread, hope you get them done, I would love to see how this game plays with accurately rerated rosters. This is for Xbox360 right? Good luck guys!

Any rating system where Geno Atkins is the 12th best DT isn't valid IMO. Admittedly I'm a Bengals fan, but he's easily the best DT in the game. If he was 2 or 3 I'd get it, but 12th? I'm not even sure how that can be justified. And how is Calvin Johnson not the best WR?
