coaching scheme sliders for Madden 11

the first thing you should know before you start reading this is, that the game has it's flaws. major flaws. this doesn't eliminate any of them. it just greatly reduces the frequency in which they occur.

second thing you should know is that this is for offline franchise only.

ok, let's begin.

1. select all 32 teams when selecting your franchise. when you get to the franchise options screen, turn all injuries off, and leave every option on CPU (singing free agents, fill rosters, etc.). i play 12 in quarters with 15 sec accelerated play clock.

2. when you get to the franchise screen you'll be the bears. go to the coaching scheme option in the menu and press R1(PS3) until you've selected you team of choice.

3. you should know that when you select your team, that your coaching scheme as far as position priority will be the default setting during the game you playing, not simming. for any team your facing, when you set the priority for each position, both your team and every team you play against will be using your coaching scheme. with the exception of run v. pass, aggression, and RB carries which effect teams individually.

4. set every position on offense @ 50% priority with the exception of WR and TE. those will beset at 10% priority. on the defensive side of the ball set DE, DT, OLB, MLB, and P at 50% while CB, FS, SS, will be set at 40% priority. make sure that your aggression and run v pass is at 50% on offense and defense.

5. go back to the menu screen, go to franchise options, and change everything to user. (signing free agents, etc.) or whatever you want.

6. here's what kind of sucks. if you want accurate stats, you have to go to each team (in coaching scheme press R1 for the ps3 to switch teams), change all the position priorities, and aggressions for each team to 50% on both offense and defense. a little tedious, but if you want to see your o-line in the pro-bowl and get accurate stats for each position, this is the only way. leave the run v pass sections for each teams as is.

7. in game settings. you have to have your injuries off, and fatigue off. i know, i know, but with these on, the game creates a lot of sliding and morphing to simulate an "injury" type of tackle or your o-line will be acting like mimes leaving DEs or DTs untouched to represent fatigue. with both of these off, they play 100% without the game trying to emulate fatigue and injury with really bad animations or lack there of.

user settings and CPU settings.

passing and running offense.
qb acc-50, pblk-38, wrcth-50. btk-53, rblk-45, fumb-40.

passing and running defense.
rea-28, int-60, prsh-50. tak-50, bsh-0, rea-50

i think that priority really means proximity. when your turn down all positions to 0%, watch how long it takes the CPU or your player to react to the football or ballcarrier.

I am sort of confused about coach schemes. How do these settings affect gameplay? What difficulty are you playing on? Thanks.
