Have you ever done tests on CPU INT Catch versus Drop?

I'm using a 5 or 6 HUM QB ACC (Browns / Weedon) with a CPU PRC of 65 and INT set at 30...

He's pretty wild (his mid acc is 76) even when he plants, and any offline throw gets caught by ANY CPU defender within reach that has a CTH over 50...

I have my PRC at 80 (loose coverage) with INTs at 20, and a guy like CB Haden (high OVR / AWR / CTH) picks about one of three that hit him in the hands...

I'd like to at least get 50 / 50 or so with the CPU Defenders above 50 / 60 ish...

I know all your sets have higher CPU INT settings, but I'm guessing your using a higher AWR / OVR/ ACC QB...

So:

Any info appreciated on "drop versus catch" for CPU INT...

Thanks!

I know you did one a while back where 18 was the human setting for finally getting some drops...so thanks again for that...
yes I did all that. I also make a terrible DB with 0 catching if he ever catches an int I drop the slider. I have to adjust some things because I don't think EA makes there settings with ratings being the most important thing. Not one slider is right when considering ratings when the sliders are at default. That should tell you a lot about. EA. I just have to change somethings to add a little challenge.

Hey Charter. Interesting to hear how you come up with these. My question is around the pass reaction slider. It appears that you don't buy the idea that this is backwards. Any idea how you came to that conclusion? What are you seeing that leads you to believe it is not backwards?

Yeah, the INT sliders have some "coverage" tied into them, so it's a balancing act...

Anyway:

What number did you start to see the CPU drop INTs at?

Same as human (18) or higher...or still testing?

Thanks...just trying to get some numerical confirmation...

Note: I set my sliders in a test CCM with the Bills, and when I got things statistically accurate, I started a Browns CCM...

Holy smokes I / We(?) stink in comparison...

I agree that ratings do matter...

I went 10-6 with the Bills and am now 2-6 with the Browns using pretty much the same set...

Anyway...

Continued thanks for the insight!

What? I have my user pass reaction at 67 and that is the lowest number. If I didn't think it was backwards I would have that at about 25 to 0. The CPU pass reactions is now backward as far as I can tell though.

I think at about 35 the cpu DB's that had 0 hands finally started dropping everything. I raised it a little for CPU coverage reasons. Another thing I do in testing is play the Madden Greats team against someone like the Browns. I know that it is in play now but, not everything is vastly different from play now to Online CCM. If those guys don't pretty much dominate then I adjust some things.

So does that mean you will lower CPU pass reaction down to 5 or something from 93? Why did you choose 67? Are you saying that you want to make it easier for the CPU to pass (from default 50)?

It was that way with the Bills...35 was the "drop spot" and so I had it at 38...

One of the interesting things about Madden is how the CPU D AI "adjusts" to the AWR of the QB the HUM is using...

65 was tight coverage for Fitzpatrick, for Weedon it's not unusual to have no one open at all ever...or have DE's break up screens, etc...

Also, at 30 I've had DTs pick off Weedon with one hand on balls that were barely off the turf!

I'll prob just stick with 65 / 30 for a bit...

He's statistically on track for a 25 pick season, which is not only realistic, but I only threw 8 over the course of a season with Fitz...with more "difficult" settings...

Sliders are truly a "house of cards" and who the USER plays as will vary the result...

Anyway, thanks as always for the prompt and informative responses!

Yes. That's right
