Yeah, Pre-season. It felt realistic, and definitely the best experience I've had with madden so far.

My reasoning is this: In the past while losing in a game of madden I'd find myself getting easily frustrated. In this game there were obviously some frustrating moments but it never ruined the fun of the game for me, because it was such realistic play. I couldn't be mad at losing because I could see real NFL games playing out like that.

Scared to try these because of the sliders being at 100s for the CPU and user being so low but will try it out and let u know

Instructions for the Beta testers of the Gospel of Madden V.2 Slider Set

The following are things that I want feedback on:

1) Total # of plays after a complete game with these exact sliders

2) Track the mix of runs and passes used by the CPU

3) Track penalties

4) Track cheese fumbles..... Memo to all MENSAS: Carrying the rock only with one hand and not "wrapping up" when about to get popped, or having a QB get creamed by a linebacker at full speed, or getting blindsided as a runner, DO NOT CONSTITUTE as cheese fumbles.... These type of fumbles happen EVERY SUNDAY, watch an NFL game if you must.... IF you are getting to many fumbles, you are not properly carrying the damn rock! I average 1 maybe two fumbles a game with these settings.... HOWEVER, if I am careless, I lose the rock, plain and simple.... With these sliders, YOU ARE REWARDED if you know how to plaster the runner with the ball properly

5) Track completion rates for ELITE QB's vs. MEDIOCRE QB's.... And for RB's, track their YPC and total number of carries....

6) Make sure that "arm tackles" do not bring down the ball carrier, and a BEAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSST ball carrier better be brought down by a posse' and not some scrawny CB using a hand tackle to the thigh....

7) BIG HITS better cause drops or fumbles, 'enuff said

8) Track how often the CPU runnin' game busts a nut on you

9) Track total number of cheese interceptions .... Bad decisions or pressure throws that turn into INT's are not cheese

10) Track the length of punts by boomers like Lechler of the 'Faiders, and the length and accuracy by elite mules like Gostkowski of the Pats....


Always play at least 4 COMPLETE games, and ALWAYS HAVE A NOTEPAD BY YOUR SIDE TO JOT DOWN "ODDITIES" THAT SEEM TO RECUR MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, or SIMPLY JOT DOWN YOUR IDEAS, THOUGHTS, OR SIMPLY A NEW COCKTAIL DRINK YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE....




You did want to beta test these bad boys didn't you? Well get to it bud.....

Just played my first game and it was ok..the score was redskins16 ravens13..it was a great defense game..too lazy and in a hurry to write the stats down but I had 91 yard rushing and 163 passing yards...and ravens had 94 rushing and 230 passing..it was a defense game..I would say it that the CPU break tackle was happening often and even raven qb was break tackle with made me miss two critical fumble at the end of the 4th quarter..the game was fun..my receivers dropped 5 passes but 3 was hard hit..I didn't.break no tackles at all which I hated but I understand..raven broke too many tackles which probably need to be tune a little along with the CPU tackle....I never broke no tackles

Anyone else not able to run well? Forte had 26 carries for 26 yards. Seemed to get hit right as I got the ball and couldn't break any tackles, a lot of 2 to 3 yard losses. Also the CPU (Texans), Schaub threw 5 interceptions and seemed to hold on to the ball to long. I think I threw 2 interceptions, which were totally my fault. Other than that I think these sliders played really well. This was just one games so I'll see how it goes a couple more games in.

Keep an eye out for the type of tackles that are being broken... In other words, helmet-squared up, chest facing, tackles to the mid-section by HUM, should significantly slow the runner down, and if you are a beeeeeaaaast linebacker, the runner should crumble to the ground altogether ... In my testing, bad angles created poor tackling.... DB's generally needed some help in bringing down a good RB.... My safeties and LB's, when using proper technique could bring good RB's with solo tackles.... In fact, the solo tackle stat IS tracked by the NFL and there is a reason it is tracked.... Solo tackling is an art, that's why the stat is tracked.... And if you follow solo tackles, there is a clear demarcation between beeeeeeaaaaaaassssts and average tacklers....
