EA and a slider guide

Is there any reason why we have to continue to guess every year what these sliders do? Has EA ever put out any kind of explanation about which way to move the sliders to increase or decrease difficulty?

Every year its the same thing. Some people think the sliders are backwards, some people think that one slider affects another, or that a slider affects CPU playcalling.

It is inexcusable to continue this way!!! Why cant EA Sports put a one page document out explaining what these sliders do!!! Do THEY even know??? It is so damn frustrating that we are in the dark EVERY YEAR!

okay...rant over.

I agree! I have seen 300 page strategy guides for madden, but not even in those do they even touch the subject of sliders. It's almost as if they dont want to admit that the game needs adjusting.

Hey Treq, the reason why we never get an explanation of exactly what is going on with the sliders, and what one slider does to effect, negate, or enhance another slider, is because EA has no idea themselves, what the sliders, or combination of sliders do. The same goes for individual player ratings. I believe there are many of them that are a placebo.

Honestly I find it hard to believe that the Madden Developers have no idea what the sliders do. For one, they have been putting sliders in madden for a long time, and if they had no idea what they do, why would they continue to include them in the game. Also, Back when they had the "my skill level" stuff, they had to of known how the sliders work, otherwise developing that system would have been pointless.

I think the developers are just worried about having to take credit for anything they say regarding sliders, and don't want to deal with it.

That's impossible for nobody to know, someone has to program it, someone can look at the code.

Re: EA and a slider guide

It makes absolutely no sense that developers who spend God knows how many hours developing this game, can't explain, in detail what the sliders do, and how one slider will effect another. Like was just said, they did program it. Now it's expected of us to believe that the developers don't want to take credit, simply because they don't want to have to deal with explaining. That's ludicrous! If you develop something, and know everything there is to know about your product, and people are asking questions about this product so that they can better understand it, and get the most out of it, then why wouldn't you divulge that information. After all you as the developer, and the company will benefit from it. Of course as long as mill ins of us keep plucking down are money even though we never get the information we are looking for, then why would a developer spend the time and effort to give us the info we're looking for?
