Patriots' alternative jerseys

Hey, can someone tell me about the difference between the Patriots' "road" jerseys and the first alternative to that in Madden? It seems like the pants are a lighter blue and the jerseys are a tad darker/silver. But, I've never noticed to light jerseys in real life. Is there really? It seems more like a lighting thing.

the Pats' alternate jerseys are silver, and were worn twice last season: a 12-0 (i think) win over the Dolphins and then they forced the Cowboys to don the 'unlucky' blues and beat them 12-0 (99% sure). the pants should be the same as the ones worn with the white jerseys, although i've noticed pant inconsistency with other teams.
heck, just for kicks one game, i decided to use the Pats in silver against the Colts in exhibition. Dominated Indy, and to boot I'd taken control of Holdman and picked off a flat pass to Pollard...almost took that one to the house

I thought there was a rule that you could only wear your alternates once per year.

No way, you can definitely wear your alternates more then once a year. Usually on big games, such as Monday or Sunday night. That's what I try to mimic.
