if you've played NCAA, you know how you can make the D line crash left or right after the snap? It's the same idea. After the ball is snapped, the O line will crash left or right, pinch the middle, and (i believe) spread out.

Pre-snap, you see 2 LB's in the center of the field showing blitz. You assume they're gonna come down the middle. So you can use the slide protection to pinch the O line post-snap, to plug up the middle.

This feature has made the passing game so much easier for me now. When I didn't know about I was always getting sacked or throwing lobs up in the air. Now I get an extra 2-3 seconds to throw.
