I assure you that they didn't for that sole reason. They could of gotten away with a stat bug fix because that would affect online stat scoring which in turn would affect the stats in any of 2k's online leagues.

Again, it must have some affect on the online portion of the game for Microsoft to allow a patch for it.

NBA2k5 had a patch. It was to fix the CPU team not calling timeouts.

They did it for nba 2k5 too.

the roster files are not just roster files per se, they also include information on pysics, and how the engine reacts, its more then just a bunch of names in the roster file, there is also code in their for all kinds of tweaks. Ea sports does this inall their games so they can fix issues later.

Xbox version somethings are definitly tweaked after roster download and Im not sure what.

All I know is i played 3 games (online) after and passing does seem tighter ,and im using jets so if anything pennington should have been a disaster after his last weeks QB rating it seems I can throw a little more acurate outside the cone of view.

I also had my 1st kickoff returned against me in 40+ online games go figure (maybe blocking is better)?

I Also noticed for the 1st time in 40+ online games that Curtis Martin was fatigued and yanked by the AI for Blaylock for 2-3 snaps in 2 out of the 3 games I played wich I was very excited about (it was a complaint I had that that online there was no auto subing).

So im not sure what they did just stating what I noticed so pls dont flame!

And now I just found out my friend cant download the roster I got last nite EA pulled it back they said on the Madden boards so WTF is going on I'm afraid to go back online now as they might auto overwrite my new roster that I kinda like AAARRRGHHHH..............

The pulled the roster because Michael King on the Jets is 7 inches tall....

I just corrected this and kept on playing....

The gameplay does seem tighter.
