Playcalling Screen looks really good

I was watching the new video at gamespot, which showed the senior production guy at EA showing this game off and the playcalling screen is amazing. There is a part in the video that shows all your guys fatigue in the playcalling screen. It's very short so you are gonna have to pause the video to see it. Right when the dude say hop on (30-31 Seconds into the video) pause it and look at the right of the screen. Picking a key players then picking your play comapred to current Madden where you have all set plays with the primary reciver and could only change it at the line is a nice addition. A couple of years to make this game, I could believe it. This is a game built from scratch and thats got to be alot of hard work to do. I think this game is gonna be great, I mean look all the negative remarks this week compared to last week and months before, that is b/c we are getting to see more and that is showing us how good this is gonna be.

I agree - the new playcalling screen looks great!

I am intrigued by the "ask coach" feature that will apparently suggest 6 possible plays for every situation.

If this is actually based on real life tendencies, I think it will be a blast to play a game this way. For example, if you play as the Pats, you would hit "ask coach" each time and pick among 6 of the types of plays that Belichek himself would have called for every situation in the game. It's like you would be "playing" for Belichek (although you obviously still get to choose which of the 6 you will run).

I just hope it's not too generic though, as there should be differences between the 32 head coaches.

So, no more "Ask Madden?" Hmmm... perhaps they are phasing him out.

This new feature will probably not be very robust this year, but EA could do so much with in the coming years. I, too, am intrigued.

No, I think they still have Ask Madden.

This would be awesome. Some coaches might run the same base sets, but they should have identifiable differences that set them apart. I also like the playcalling screen. It's just cool to see something new, this gen's Madden got stale for me.

I think this would be really cool on defense. For example, with Dick LeBeau on the Steelers, "Ask Coach" would probably give you lots of blitzes, whereas a team like Carolina would be based a lot more on a pass rush from the front 4.
