On field perspective sounds great if you couldn't hear the anouncers. I think they should go all the way with either a tv broadcast or on-field perspective. Mixing them sounds silly.

I absolutely loved FPF the last few years. That's probably what I miss more than anything. But I don't like the close-up of the front of the QB walking to the line scenes that I've been seeing in the videos from Madden. That's nothing like FPF, and its also nothing like I'd see on TV. To me, it reminds me more of the stupid matrix-style replays that the ESPN baseball games have been using for years. I'd love to see EA try FPF, but if they can't do that, then please give us replays/playable camera angles that we get on tv.

I agree. FPF is totally underrated and underappreciated; if they were going that route, it'd be welcome. And I agree with another person's comment that coupling a more on-the-field perspective with this hometown announcer calling the game feature seems like a weird mix. Personally I think the primary reason we're seeing Tiburon take this route is that it's easier for them to implement, given where the game seems to be and how much time they had before launch.

Some options can be used to alter your players' body characteristics, such as making them thinner or heavier.
This is good news that "editing players" will be available as an option in the game, even if the only thing you are able to edit is the body. I hope you can adjust individual body parts, like in the old Maddens, and not just be given several types of body sizes to choose from, as in 2k. However, I think editing accessories, such as facemasks, gloves, etc. may not be available.

Good find, Lbz. I’m not sure what to think about the assertion that the game is sped up and more tuned to arcade play. I’m hopeful that in fact what the previews are picking up on is a streamlined interface rather than a conscious move towards an arcade style. NCAA’s simulation value is not much below Madden’s if at all, but the game is infinitely easier to pick up and play thanks to a more elegant control scheme. I’m hoping Madden on the 360 works in much that way. The ultimate goal with any sports game should be to take things that are complicated and render them in a way that is simple and intuitive.
