WTF..I can't stand the people at IGN who play this game...YOU SEE THE MFER SCRABLE BACKWARDS 15 YARDS RIGHT AFTER THE BALL WAS SNAPPED?...WTF...

Nothing in the videos impressed me though....Looked like 2006 with superstar mode on 1 player.

Yea I see what your saying but the problem isn't necessarly the gamers fault, it's the fact that doing this can be so effective and has been for many years. I'm guess the majority of madden players actually play much like you see in the ign videos. It's because many don't think about realism being important and many find it's effective so why not do it?

Well, of course it is going to be effective on the lower settings - running back to your goaline, drawing in every defender and doing a loop around all defenders for the long TD run is also pretty effective on easy settings. As far as I care, dropping back a lot hasn't been effective on respectible settings for a while now. It can probably still be done, but there are advantages to staying in the pocket and even stepping up into the pocket for a throw for those who try to play realistically.

At least they have seemed to improve the player models from looking too muscular and bloated.

Well, I wouldn't call it more effective... it's just easier to run away from the danger than to stand it up and make quick reads. Players that do that gain no advantage that I've ever seen, especially on the harder difficulty settings...

Re: 7/26/06-New Madden PS2 Videos

Ratings like arm strength and accuracy should mean more. Seems to be little to no negative effect for players that use this type of strategy - other than Tiburon's band-aid of the OL whiffing on protection when a QB breaks pocket. In the 360 vids, QBs seemed to throw super-accurate bombs w/no need to set their feet or step up.

Player movement current gen would look so much more dynamic if they allowed for more articulation at the waist. And the way players walk/jog on the balls of their feet pre/post play looks ridiculous. At least EA's being gracious enough to allow people to make a more informed decision between the two versions, but I think it's more because they were able to squeeze SS mode into the next gen version

I noticed that there wasn't any play by play, just the PA announcer. Did IGN just have it turned off, or are Al and John not in the current gen this year?

It shouldn't be affective at all. There are certain aspects of a football sim that shouldn't be effective regardless of the level setting and running back 15 yards from the shotgun postion and making passes is one of them.
