That was true in 2004 and earlier no doubt. But that's no where near true now.

2k was my game of choice, but it had it's own set of issues, that seem to be forgotten around here by certain people.
I also challenge you to find such a post.

I made this point in another forum and Ill make it here....there have been 4 exclusive deals in the last 5 years(EA with NFL and Nascar,2k with MLB and Sony with Formula One). In each of those cases a superior product was put out of business by the deal. Exclusivity is good for game companies and bad for game players. I buy Madden every year, but dont think for a minute that I wouldnt give anything to see where the development of the 2k series would be now

Read just about any post written in the past 2 years in either the Madden or 2k forums.

Counterpoint to Counterpoint

All you have to do is ask yourself, if there was no such thing as a "exclusive NFL deal" Do you really think Madden 06 and 07 would be released with the features they currently have ?

Which game do you think would look better, and have more features at this point, Madden 07 or NFL2K7 ?

Looking at EA's track record, even in the none "exclusive" games(NBA) EA went backwards in their game and The 2K guys progressed.

Where do you all get this from? What makes you think people care what name is on the box? I would guess that 95% of 2K fans were Madden fans first. Folks made the switch because VC put out what they thought was a better game. I'd bet folks complaining about missing elements in Madden were the same folks complaining about the bugs in 2K. I'm one of them, and those bug/glitches thread were always huge.

When EA makes the greatest game ever made... hell, when EA addresses issues many have been complaining about for years, maybe we will find out if your theory is true. Until then, people will complain about essentials missing from Madden, just like they complained about the annual bugs in 2K. That's what people do when they are unsatisfied.

I just read a post today or yesterday where that was the case. If I get a second, I'll quote it for you. I see that all the time. Some of the Madden folks are very defensive... prematurely at that.
