Put it on 480p... still choppy but not as much.

I've got it running on a Plasma cranked up to 1080i and the choppiness is still there, you would think the game would run smoothly but I guess not, it wouldnt be as annoying if it didnt happen every single cut scene

I wonder if this could be because I'm not hooked up to xbox live ?

I'm hooked up to Xbox Live and still have the choppiness issue. I am running the game in HD and I didn't have any issues with NCAA. It doesn't affect gameplay for me, but it takes away from the flow of the game.

I notice it more in SS mode than in a normal game though.

SS mode does have some frame rate issues (was mentioned in several reviews that I saw). The rest of the time I think you just may be more sensitive to changes in frame rate than most people. I know that when I play a game on my PC the frame rate can seem perfectly smooth to me, but if my brother plays it on the same computer he will comment on how laggy or choppy it is.
