Could you imagine a bunch of guys in the college dorm playing Madden Wii, moving around with the magic wond controller or whatever? Rather unsightly...
you must not be a hardcore fan if you can have fun with the regular controllers on a new gen/current gen what makes you think your fun will be wasted when you have to really do the moves to make things happen.
I think we have to give this a try before we put it down and dismiss it.
People come on these boards and complain endlessly about how EA never does anything innovative, how they release the "exact same game every year with updated rosters", and how it is the "same old Madden."
With Madden Wii, EA is working with the main feature of the Wii (its innovative controller) to completely change how you play Madden. You have to give EA some credit for being willing and able to take the risk and try something new with the control scheme. They are really trying to change the gameplay experience by making so many different aspects of the game controllable va the Wii controller. It's not like they are just going in and changing "speed burst" from the X button to the B button.
I, for one, plan on pre-ordering a Wii to give this new control scheme a try. I haven't been this enthusiastic about a new and innovative-looking football game since the first time I saw the NFL2K video playing on a Dreamcast marketing video. I enjoy playing football video games, so I'm not about to complain about a company giving me a completely new way to play a football video game that I have thoroughly enjoyed for years.
