Some of the commentary here makes it seem Madden PS3 is a system seller!

I just passed by a Bestbuy in the Greater Toronto Area and was surprised to see two 20gb PS3's (one as an oen box) and one 60gb system. One of the retail clerks told me they are just not selling. Wii's on the other sell as soon as they come in. If I am a PS3 owner, I would sure hope that more people buy. The online PS3 community is really thin at best right now.

It'll pick up I'm sure. And yeah, they're most definitely readily available in most parts of the country. I was suprised when I went to pick mine up... EVERY store at least had 2 60GB's and a few 20's in stock. In time, the sales will pick up.. but not until some good games start coming forth.

As far as the BluRay quality without HDMI... you can get a DVI to HDMI adapter, and it's pretty much the same thing brother. You won't be missing out at all. BluRay looks great from what I've seen. I did have it up running on the 61" Samsung 1080p DLP... but have since put it in my bedroom with the 32" LG LCD running 1080i, and the movies still look absolutely awesome. It's definitely a MAJOR upgrade over regular DVD's.

Also remember that the first few weeks after Christmas, not many people have the kind of cash to put forth for any video game console. Most of their major purchases occurred a couple of weeks back.

I really want to start watching HD-DVD/Blu-Ray movies on my tv, and in an ideal world, I'd have both. I may end up with a PS3 the same way you did, WTF. Not planning on it, rather just walking out of a store with one.

The fiance will love me then.

LOL, that's the biggest PS3 deterrent for me right now. She'd be 'filing' before we even get married!!!

LOL, yeah tell me about it. Deep down inside, I think she's a Nintendo/MS fangirl. She occasionally plays the 360, can't wait until we get the Wii and plays the DS religiously.

Yeah we tried a Wii at a presentation demo at the Erin Mills Town Centre and she loved it. I could get a Wii and she won't mind, but with a Sales trip to Vegas in April (before the wedding) and a sales trip to Vegas in September (after the wedding), the shock and awe of adding a PS3 to the home would be viewed as not only an act of aggression, but also all out war!!!

If I didn't already have a 360 I could justify the PS3 and 'live', but with Halo III and Forza II coming down the pipe, I am will remain with the status quo. If only Microsoft had a license to host Formula One games on the 360. Now that game in particular looks nuts on the PS3.

Target and Best Buy in my area have PS3's in stock. No Wii's in sight though.

I think the big $600 chunk is what make the PS3 a slam dunk purchase for those not hardcore into gaming.

Mine's going to gather dust until Sony puts out a game I actually want to play.
