IGN: Madden 08' Preview

Ummm, I know guys doubt because of history but we don't hear these EXACT things every year. This is my first time hearing Hit Stick 2.0 well except for NCAA for this year. Never heard EA talk about their tackling engine like that with confidence. Never ever heard them talk about double team blocking. If they get all that in and make this game more about play football than about playing Madden then job well done.

I agree.

You usually here EA talking about bells and whistles instead of core gameplay. They would talk about the next great idea(hit stick, QB Vision, Truck stick, Superstar Mode) instead of talking about the core gameplay. They would just state that gameplay would be improved instead of going into detail on how its improved.

I think its a good thing that they are getting the "basic fundamentals" of football into their game. Is it overdue? Perhaps. But they are doing what many on this board said they would never do...... improve core gameplay and make the game "realistic".

Co-Sign. This is the 1st time EA has really boasted this early about improvements to the actual game engine. I Hope presentation gets the same attention. Nice Tv style camera cuts, nice replays, maybe a half time show and post game show? Maybe some new commentary. One can dream....

Agree.

I like what I am hearing about the improvements to the game engine. Now I just want to hear on how presentation has been improved and how they have incorporated ESPN into it.

Exactly. Better late than never. I really do hope Madden is good this year. It'd make my summer .
