So.. why is EA "too dumb" but 2k isnt? I dont see this in a 2k football game either..

Seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to do something that wouldn't upset people. First, if you mess up the kick meter just make it an alternate animation. Second, make it a random event (and make it sure its rare as in real life). But in the latter case give the user some chance to recover, so for example you have a split second to either use the kick meter again and make it, or else run with/throw the ball.
