Re: What was so bad about '07?

It was incredibly boring. NCAA had the same problem but at least there was recruiting. And mario running is one of the most annoying things ever.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I'll add...

No gang tackling
No pocket
Mario running
Landmine effect
Many missing features & options
Cut scene after breaking the huddle
Bomb whistle
Ease of completing bombs
Bad blocking AI
Super hero player models
Too many push type, non-wrap tackles
Bad DE AI
Dumb crowds
Ugly sidelines

I haven't played since I sold the game a month or so after I sold it, so I'm forgetting a lot. The game just sucked.

Madden on the pc was the best football game I've ever played.

I don't have a high end system by any means, but it ran smooth as butter and looked brilliant. It did all the little things right (TBD injuries, fatigue, int. rate, etc...), the only thing it lacked in my opinion was stat overlays and overall presentation. I'll probably bypass the 360 version this year and just buy the pc version for $30. I'm still playing the pc version and with my sliders, getting a ton of mileage out of it.
Hmmm ...If the 360 version fails me again you may have just given me an excellent back-up plan...

I never thought I'd say it but I was pretty much in the same boat. I bought the current gen version and thought it was fun but I made the mistake of dishing out the money for the hof edition for the 360. I played it for about 30 minutes and dropped it and as a casual fan picked up nba 2k7 and had the best next gen gaming experience possible. Even die hard Madden fans find it hard to justify the first two versions of game.
