Re: PS2 version still the best version available...

My only hands-on experience with the 360 version was a few minutes at BB. Between that and what I keep reading, I don't feel like I'm missing a thing without a 360 or PS3.

Here are some of the things I like about the XBox version vs 360/PS3:
- Facemask penalties
- Formation subs
- Formation audibles
- Fatigue seems to work properly
- Refs on the field and nets behind the goalposts
- Reasonable number of turnovers
- Defensive assignments. I can make Al Harris cover the opponents #1 WR all day.
- No super-leaping LBS. I can actually complete passes between levels of defenders

Overall, it just feels like a mature, solid product on the Xbox.

Agreed. After many sliders and adjustments on the PS3 (with no success) I exchanged my PS3 copy for the PS2 Madden and I am loving it. I actually could play the game out of the box and started a franchise. I also see the differences between 08 and 07 Madden (although it is not much the game has improved). I am loving it. I finally fulfilled my NFL game itch. The PS3 version was trash. The atmosphere is better...No radio announcer calling the game. Crowds I can hear. The list goes on...

My new issue of Game Informer just came in and Madden 08 for the 360 got an 8 out of 10. You would think that after 3 years on the 360 GI Madden would have gotten a higher score but it didnt. I also didnt mention the fumbling problem and glossed over the lack of game play features matthew just mentioned.

I am debating trading my PS3 version in as well, but I have just a couple stupid question...

1. If I purchase the PS2 version and use in my PS3, would I be able to still play online games?

2. In the PS2 version can you change your sliders, auto subs in/out, etc. in the franchise menu, or does this have to be done before I load my franchise?

Thanks!

OG is the way to go. I like the PC version. Sold 360 version on ebay and still haven't had a craving to have it back. The new engine is prettier but terrible.

1 .I don't see any reason you wouldn't be able to play online.
2. As far as I know you can change all that stuff inside franchise
3. WELCOME TO LAST GEN

1. Yes and yes..even better is you can play franchise mode using the "spawn game" feature...me and my buddy are playing out a franchise online and loving it. He has a PS2 and play with a PS3....

2. not sure
