Playing for trophies?

When playing a game online how do you select to play for a trophy?

You must have won the trophies offline prior to online play. Or unless you win a trophy from an opponent

I wonder if there is a limit to how many trophies you can have? I have only played for trophies vs. the CPU, a couple I have chosen more than once and of course I have multiple trophies of the same kind. I am wondering if it just shows the last X amount of trophies. For instance, say you win the same trophy 15 times, does it just show the last 10 (or whatever the limit may be) or does it actually keep a record of every single trophy you have ever played for and won? I just like having them because it shows stats for that particular game.

Tilted Brim,

Did you get it to work? When I try to play someone online and hit X it just brings up their gamer tag. I can't get my trophies to come up. let me know if you got it to work and how.
