So far, I'm not entirely sure. From what I've seen, no one higher up at EA (developers) have commented on this or said anything. So far from the few people I saw that got an actual, non-generic response from tech support, it seems like EA acknowledges this but considers it a "rare occurrence" and doesn't believe it effects a majority of franchise users.

I know one article (preview of Madden I think) said there was some sort of patch in the works for turnover issue, though I have no idea about that. 1UP had an article about how there was a patch in the works for the moonwalk, that seems legit enough. I think there will *a patch* for at least the moonwalk in the works. Seems like a lot of people have complained about the franchise problem, however. On the practical, logical side of things, I think this issue is effecting enough players that a patch is warranted. On the EA ethics side of things, their track record of fixing things is pretty dismal. Maybe someone with some inside information can lend a hand here...

Free Agent Pool (360) is the best read...

Basically, after 2 or 3 seasons, the FA pool runs dry in some positions and there simply aren't any players available in those positions. Can't meet roster requirements, can't advance a week...and you're pretty much screwed.

There will be a patch for it. It's called Madden 2009.
