Well Ortiz did preface the video by saying that the developers don't consider the 'money plays' to be exploits of the game engine; instead they view them as plays that have a high percentage of working if used strategically.

Ofcourse I disagree with that, but maybe that explains why they aren't upset when they see that someone has discovered a 'money play'.

I know he said that... but I don't think it's that cut and dry.

You can tell by the reaction of the developer when he couldn't figure out how he was getting blitzed.... almost felt a little embarrassed.

After watching that video, I thought it was hilarious to hear them actually admit to money plays.

Fact is, there are some plays that cannot be stopped. It doesn't matter if you double team a guy and use the new receiver spotlight feature.

This is the type of statement that has really turned some people off to EA as a company. To me, it just comes across as arrogant.

It's sad because that "Over-Storm" blitz play has been money for about 5 years now (dating back to the older systems); I wish the developers would view it as an exploit of their O-Line A.I., and not just as a "highly successful play".

I don't think it's arrogance, I think the developers of Madden just enjoy a more arcade style of football. If you watch the video they're actually enjoying (and encouraging) all of the 'money plays' during their head-to-head games. It was almost like they admitted that whoever had the most 'money-plays' (a.k.a. exploits) had the best chance of winning the game.

One of the guys ran a FB dive and got about 8 yards everytime, no matter what defensive play the developer called. Instead of the devs saying, "Man, we really need to improve our O-Line/D-Line play mechanics"...They were saying, "Cool dude, you've found a really good play. You're awesome!".

Well then it is just sad. I'll have to check the video out.

XBL = XBox Live (an online service offered to those who have an XBOX 360)

If you have XBox Live you can access the 'MarketPlace' and download the latest Madden video; which is about 'money plays'.
