I haven't pre-ordered, nor do I think I will. However, I will be buying Madden '09 one way or another. If the game is not up to par on the PS3 again for '09, then I will have no problem playing the PS2 version like I did with '08. Actually I am still playing Madden '08 on PS2.

Not all of us are EA homers like yourself. Those of us that have supported EA for years are getting tired of their lazy asses and glitch infested games.

I feel the same way. No pre-order for me and I will wait to buy the game. I no longer will be buying the game just because it says Madden on the cover.

Same here. It's just not a must-buy anymore when EA continues to release beta versions, yet there are so many other more polished games out there now (both sports and otherwise).

I'll see how the user reviews are, monitor the feedback, etc., then make the decision.

Some big things for me to determine whether this is a day one purchase...

Do they FINALLY have online leagues? Hopefully this went well for NHL08 so Madden can incorporate it.

Will the gameplay not suck this year?

Ive bought Madden day one for about 7 straight years, but the last two nextgen offering have been very subpar IMO. This will be the first time in years I'll wait to see reviews and impressions or just play it at someone else's house before i buy it.

Not this year. The last 2 I've even done the midnight release. Unless they release some in depth info and there is obvious changes for the good, I'll be waiting. Last year if I'd have waiting just 1 week I could have picked up a used copy.

Not everyone has the same drive that will cause them to drive 100's of miles just to get a game 3 days early!
