I'm planning on buying this game ONLY if there's some sort of player lock mode. What I mean is, can I play the whole game by just controlling ONE player (for example, free safety throughout the whole game)?

Also, during the game, can you go into options and let your team be controlled by the CPU (so it's basically CPU vs. CPU) and change it back when you want to (this time, human vs. CPU)?

You mean Superstar mode? Then yes, its there.
