It is just ea's excuse for not changing anything because the game still sells well. I think its sad that they haven't been able to make a better game than 2k5 and it is FOUR years later on a new generation of consoles.

I dont see how Madden could get any more casual..? Why dont they just release NFL Tour as the arcade game and do their best to make Madden a sim game?

I think this is why EA Sports is out of touch with it's customers.

Who buys this on day one. Not casual gamers. Casual gamers are casual for a reason, they don't pre-order. They don't have pull a Madden-oliday. They don't buy football games in July and August. They are casual because they eventually get the game and play it a bit.

No game has been a success that has been mediocre. That's the key here. Look at MVP. That wasn't complicated but is regarded as one of the better baseball titles ever release. And you know what it had sales to match. College Hoops and NBA 2k have sold well because they were good games. NHL is another game. Casual gamers can get into but it doesn't turn off hardcore fans.

That's the key. All games should allow casual fans to get into their games but offer a level of realism that allow the hardcore gamers to play the game.

EA Sports' problem is that they don't believe casual gamers will play games that hardcore gamers love. What they fail to understand is that sports games need to be realistic first, accessible and fun. MVP, WE, CH, NBA all had these qualities.

It reminds of the slogan for that Othello game, a minute to understand and lifetime to master.

If they made their game game like NFL 2k5 sales would be through the roof. That is the best way to get better sales. They admit 2k5 was the best game ever and then they try to imitate it and me and all the other madden haters would buy the game. It is that simple.

I really shouldnt say Fix because its not a problem, its a opinion.
I would say the younger gamers the really young ones, but more and more people are starting to view messageboard forums to get peoples takes. Alot of people view, but not alot vote. The number of viewers is only going to increase from here on out.

EA has better get its act together, but it will eventually backfire. It may not be right now or next year, but its going to come eventually. I would like to think people will realize. Hell, they did it with NBA Live, that game is a PoS and they dont sell very well anymore.

well NBA and MLB games combined don't touch madden game sales or level of marketing. There's never been a next gen NBA game to go over 1 million, when madden 08 and 07 each did it on the 360 alone. I just don't see the same level of decreasing satisfaction for this game affect sales as much as they do for the lesser selling games.

to me, what hurts madden is that at its level of sales, it really is competing with CoD4, mass effect, etc. for next gen sales now. Besides the hardcore sports gamers, do people want another madden for $60, or wait and spend the $60 on an equally hyped, but different game?

Re: Is Peter Moore going to make a difference in Madden's gameplay?

I heard NFL Tour is such a score festival that the first one to make a defensive stop will most likely win the game. I just hope Madden will never regress to that point. I still like the head to head aspect of Madden. Almost every move can be countered, and a lot of it still requires good execution.

It makes people adjust and get used to a deeper game.

If people really want to take the time to play something and get good at it, they'll take the time to learn the ends and outs. If they dont games like NFL tour are available. Maybe I'm wrong but thats how I see it.
whoa be careful now! Rational thinking has no place in Madden.
