Does controlling all 32 teams on a franchise increase your chances of a game freeze?

I like to control all 32 teams to update free agency and coaching changes. However, with the patch update that I downloaded, my franchise mode still freezes. I updated the coaching changes (as best I could) and free agency up to this point. I got through the preseason just fine and when I tried to sim up to my 1st regular season game, it froze and it continued to freeze even after I played my game and tried to sim the week. Should I just give up hope of a updated franchise and play with just one team or is there something else I can do to control all 32 teams?
