Franchise: Sim first season?

What I will do is choose a team that has a new coach (this year i'm picking the falcons) and then alter what that team does in the offseason to mirror my philosophy. Maybe I will add or subtract a free agent, or decide that I would have taken player A in the draft instead of player B. I make those alterations to the roster file, save it as my franchise roster file, then start my franchise. This way I already have gone through that first offseason (sort of) and personalized my team for that first season.

Having exact rosters and draft pick positions isn't too important to me. I'll usually start a franchise, sign a few FA's then sim the first season. I like the whole scouting and drafting part of franchise, so it's fun to start with that part first.

I also like doing the fantasy draft, and putting together a team of average joes. Then, the only studs I'll pick up is whoever is left in free agency.
