Yes the original John Madden Football. I realized today after going into the video game store at the mall that it was the 30th anniversary of Madden.

I also realized that I owned the first one for the PC and absolutely loved it. I designed plays, created my own team, had my own league and playoffs...it was a good time. I played that game for countless hours.

One funny thing I remember was that in the game manual it said something close to "Sometimes the camera man might miss part of the play, or show a whole other section of the field. More than likely a fan just spilled a cold beer down his shirt and he will get back to game as soon as possible." I guess that's as good a way as any to explain a glitch!

20th anniversary

There is a collector's edition this year.

Oops...20 years you are right. I would have been -1 years old if it was 30!

my addiction also began with the 1st on genesis. the only ones i didnt get was '94 - '97 because i was in the U.S. Navy.

Madden, Joe Montana and NFL SportsTalk football were the first football games I had, other than electric football. Which really wasn't bad.

I liked Joe Montana football way more than Madden. I still play it every once in a while. Considering I was maybe seven, Madden was way too realistic and therefore way too hard. But my favorite by far was NFL Sports Talk Football. Haven't been able to find a copy or I'd buy it.

I had the first one for Apple II, it was awesome. Sadly, it's superior in many ways to today's game.
