Maybe before it releases the OL/DL interaction and pocket forming will be on par or better than 2K8

Re: Ian Cummings - Let's Dialogue - Gang/2 Player Tackling and Interaction

The Locomotion and New Ball Carrier anims vids looked very nice. I saw a nice 3player tackle about a third of the way in, then the last fourth of the vid looked really good also. It's the first time I've seen the ballcarrier react more appropriately to the defense tackling and directional changes. And it seemed to be the first time there seemed to be some distinctiveness between the ballcarriers. The new analog running they hyped early on looks great. I wonder if they extended a certain level of interaction to other players, not just the ball carrier. An example would be (I don't want to inject myself into this great discussion; just had an APF vid I posted a few months back that I thought would be helpful in the talk) - this is cpu vs. cpu:

.

Also, the movement in the Loco/Ball Carrier vids seemed so much better than what we've seen from IGN or Gamespot it seems weird. They're way better than even the tackling vid EA themselves posted. The biggest difference is the IGN/Gamespot/EA tackle vids all seem to be in game, with all assets running. The Locomotion and Ball Carrier anims seem they're all done in practice mode. Could the game behave differently when it's not trying to "do more" so to speak? Or it could be the vids are from more recent/polished builds of the game... I only say that because it seems like a noticeable difference. And last year I remember being mostly impressed with the Ian Cummings blog vids, but the stuff shown in the vids didn't translate to on the field action when playing the game. The only differences seeming to be in game w/all assets running, versus practice mode with less and perhaps allowing the engine to render more action on the field.

At the very least the new vids are much appreciated; interesting discussion

nice Vid Spank, those animations are SICK. 2k realy mastered suddle animations at all positions and during all phases of the play. lloks like EA is finaly at least trying to look into why we rave about that series. that vid was an excelent example

Ok, someone at EA explain why these newest videos look light years ahead of the tackling demonstrated in the actual tackling video released a week or so ago?
