Who thinks signature styles would enhance madden gameplay

Spoken like a man who never played APF. I know you hate hearing this but APF like 2k5 was a great game. It's gameplay is unmatched. It wasn't the gameplay that hurt APF's sales, it was the lack of depth like being able to add as many players as you want to your teams, and the fact that it does not have current NFL players. The gameplay in APF is outstanding IMO. Sure it has it's flaws but no football game before it can match it's gameplay. Not sure who you were talking about but I haven't purchased madden since it went to the next gen systems. Come to think of it, I picked it up last year without opening it and waited a few weeks while reading the reviews on here and after hearing how terrible it was I took it back unopened. I

Really? I didnt' see that in the "2k advocate" rule book. I'll read it again soon. Maybe some of us (me) may not be into baseball as much as the other sports. I love 2k's baseball game this year and I played 2k7 right up until I purchased this years game, but I'm not a big enough baseball fan to be able to pick out the flaws in that game like some of you can. I just know it plays well for what I want a baseball game to be.

Like you, I have never played 2k's basketball games feeling like it wasn't enough for now. That series improved leaps and bounds IMO every year. I have never purchased or liked EA's basketball games.

point taken. but can you name me another game that has this much trouble "adjusting" to the new hardware. I'm not saying one doesn't exist, but I have yet to come across one. Every other game has improved through next gen. not to mention, we're 4 years into the new hardware

This is a whole new team on Madden this year. They're stuck trying to rebuild the mess that the old crew left for them and I know we've all been frustrated with next gen Madden. They're also doing things differently in terms of reaching out to the fanbase, coming to OS and taking direct feedback. For too long it seemed that the Madden people at EA were only listening to the sales numbers and the Madden tourney crowd. This is the chance for us hardcore gamers here at OS to make a difference.

From looking at the videos I think they really have made some very nice improvements to the game. I thought 08 was very disappointing but if you took away the turnover issues and some gameplay quirks that have plagued next gen Madden through the years I really saw a great football game buried somewhere deep in there. Yes, it was really dry in terms of presentation but it did the X's and O's pretty well.
