Solution for Field Goal Problem?

Field Goals in Madden are way to easy. I wonder if simply removing the kicking meter would add some excitement back into the kicking game. Could this be done via a patch?

Re: Solution for Field Goal Problem?

I loved the difficulty of the kicking game in All Pro. And Madden should def steal this and use it . I think its time to do away with this stupid meter once and for all.

And no, EA will not remove the Meter for 09. Wont happen.

Re: Solution for Field Goal Problem?

There's a VERY easy solution for the field goal problem actually. One that should make most people satisfied.

Just an an option to hide the kick meter!

No complexity about it at all. It's just as simple as it sounds. It is literally adding an option that changes the "on" bit that displays the kick meter to an "off" bit that won't display it.

But I've already suggested that to EA before... no dice... I guess there's a problem with such an option, although personally I can't figure out what it is.

Hmmm..Never thought or heard of that as an option. I like the idea.

Re: Solution for Field Goal Problem?

I agree with the above poster...They should steal the All Pro 2K8 meter....that was a pretty challenging kick meter......

No meter is the way to go. Use the stick to simulate where the kicker is in his kick (a la APF) with the right stick, aim (with no arrow) with the left. Great idea. OP.

Re: Solution for Field Goal Problem?

Removing the meter is a good idea.

I know Ian has stated that the specifics behind kicking will be revisited for Madden 2010, but it would be great if a (perhaps temporary) solution was implemented for Madden 09.

Just like the receiver icons disappearing when a QB fades back too far, removing the meter would be a simple way to improve a facet of the game.
