I like the premise, but I'm starting to sense the implementation of IQ is better suited for casuals who don't want statistical realism relative to the team/player they are controlling. If I'm playing a franchise and suck passing one week, I don't want to play next week's game with easy passing because I just had an off game. Of course IQ will adjust again, but it will always be one game behind. You could even get in a weird cycle where you suck one game bringing passing difficulty down, dominate the next bringing it way back up, and over and over again endlessly. I think it should be more of a long term thing, based off of averages, and not so easily influenced by one game here and there. It maybe very well be, but the impression I'm getting is it's a game to game thing.

Guess it's a good thing sliders and traditional difficulty settings remain (hopefully in a workable state).
I was thinking the exact same thing! Is EA purposely trying to make us win every game? I willing to bet the majority of people that purchase Madden every year are the hardcore type, so we obviously want a challenge and I for one dont mind losing to the CPU. I am wondering if the IQ thing bumps up the difficulty a little bit based on your test scores. So if you scored like a low all-pro score, it should bump up the difficulty to a high all-pro score that way the challenge is still there but in your comfort zone still.

I don't think that negative feedback from someone they sent an early copy to is of any worry to EA, as long as it is constructive I can't see why they'd care.
Good points and perhaps we should forward this post to Fred. So far the only negative thing he mentioned is the fact you cannot take screenshots. However, he has mentioned several positives and the overall feel is that it is better than NCAA because various issues present in that game have not carried forward to Madden. I'm not a Fred *****, just a skeptical observer.

I think skeptical is fair at this point, I know I am. It's not so much that the football games that have been released over the past ten years or so have been all bad, it's just that the efforts have been inconsistent, you just never know what might be broken from one year to the next.

After NCAA I am going to be very cautious with this title but at the same time it's clear from everything we've seen and hear about the game so far that it got a lot more love than NCAA did on the development side of things.

Trust me, Fred has no problems with pointing out flaws in the game. Yes he got it from EA, but if he wanted to he could give the game a 4/10 and next year, he'd still get a copy. EA wasn't happy about something he previously did(I believe it was last year) but he still got a copy this year.

And again, all he's really doing is giving his general impressions of the game. He doesn't go looking for flaws. He simply picks the game up, puts it in, and plays to have fun like most of us hardcore gamers here do.

I'd be careful about some of these people claiming to have the game early. I don't think it has even been shipped. Only review sites have access to the game. However, people have confirmed the game is leaked and people are downloading it. I think the people claiming to have bought the game early should post a pic of the opened game box with a piece of paper with there gamertag held by it.

Fred does have it, don't have to worry about that. People are bound to have it, the game goes gold sometimes like a month before release, it goes out to warehouses and such pretty early.

Can he tell us if there are CPU sliders and not just human sliders as stated in another thread titled new sliders as per Bill Abner in that thread? He says he cant find any CPU sliders at all, only human sliders? If there are no CPU sliders, then what?
