Re: Another Defense Thread, But......
CB's tips:
* Change your defenses. Play zone, man, mixture. Blitz when it isn't obvious and also when it is. Show blitz and don't come, show blitz and do come, show no blitz and come and show no blitz and stay back.
* Highlight receivers when possible, especially if you have a mismatch.
* Use the pass commit feature. I'm telling you it makes a diffference.
* Move your players around. Shift your line, shift your linebackers, move your secondary. If you are afraid of the slant and you are playing man, bump the receiver.
* Know your audibles. If you feel that your original play is at a disadvantage, switch it to something that matches up better. Also, pick audibles that you feel comfortable with.
* Move your players around. I know I mentioned this before, but this time I am talking about formation changes. Flipping your DE's, flipping your safeties. If you have a dominant rushing DE, move him around. Same thing with a dominant LB.
* Know your players. Know who does what. Who's able to be left on an island, who can rush the passer effectively, who will need help covering a receiver.
Thats my tips and my .02. Take them for what you will.
Good luck boys.
