Does the CPU ever sub their HBs??

I'm playing a game against the Lions and Kevin Smith has 20 carries with 2 minutes left in the half. With alot of NFL teams adopting the 2 running back system you would think EA would catch on. What happens when you play the Saints? Does Deuce get all the carries or does he split time with Bush? Is there any way to fix this?

If you want the CPU teams to use 2 or more running backs you need to play a super sim game and then formation sub certain packages. Once the game is finished those packages will be set for the rest of the season. I found this out playing a super sim with the Texans and then a few weeks later I played them and they were using three different RB's in the packages I created for them.

Sorry, can you explain that? On last gen, you used to be able to formation sub for all teams if you controlled them all in the season/franchise menu. I used to put running backs into certain formations, and put all the punters in as holders unless a team used the backup QB. Why does EA always have the second string QB in as the holder? It's is most often the punter now on most teams.

So you need to user control all 32 teams to do this?

No you don't need to control all 32 teams, just one. So I play as the Browns but I like to super sim/play offense on occasion with other teams. So I will supersim a game and user control one of the teams. During the game I will make substitions in certain play packages. It seems as though that after you make these changes they stay permanent for the season. However, I have only done this with running backs.

I suggest you super sim a game against the team you will play next week and make some major changes... when you then play the team the next week you should see the changes.

Sub their HBs? Hell the games I've played, they barely even use the one that's starting

The formation subs workaround is the best way to get the cpu to sub hbs but if you set the sub out percentage to 99/100, you will see RB subs every once in a while. Usually after a long run or 4-5 runs on a drive, the cpu will sub the backup in for one play.

thats better than nothing. How many carries would you say the cpu backup RB's are getting?
